Delivering Quality Financial Translations to Global Financial Institutions

Translation of Corporate Brochures, Financial Reports, Financial Data, etc. (Since June 2011)

Why HQ-Translators?

HQ-Translators was chosen to handle these financial translation projects for two main reasons:

  • Our references (which the client demanded to contact in the first place)
  • Our experience (considering the past financial translation projects already carried out for other clients)

Background

The end client is a multinational financial services corporation based in the US, with thousands of offices and employees throughout the world. Established in many countries around the world, the firm mainly does business in wealth management, investment banking, equity, trading, etc.

The Challenge

The end client had already finished putting together its end-of-year financial documents and was about to forward them to the board of directors for approval when they realised that they were not yet translated. Consequently, they had to have them translated promptly to avoid financial penalties from the government.

How HQT Helped

We asked for and obtained the client’s financial documents for the previous years (both source and target). Having converted them from PDF to Word, we successfully aligned those useful reference files to create a translation memory. After analysing the files we received from the client with the newly created TM, we realised that 30% of the content was already translated which gained us 30% of the time frame we had for this rather urgent assignment.

The Result

Thanks to the translation memory we had created, we could complete the project earlier than the client had anticipated, much to his surprise. We saved time on our side and we also saved him money as we decided not to charge for the repetitions encountered after exploiting the reference files the client sent us.
