Why HQ-Translators?

HQT was the client’s choice for this project because of what we are in essence:

• A translation agency with a strong and consistent team of seasoned linguists capable of handling many projects at the same time, into one or multiple languages, with the same accuracy, rigour, and attention to detail.
• Our flexibility regarding our rates. Because this client’s budget was tight, he was looking for an affordable translation service and required human translators to help as opposed to Post Editing Machine Translation (PEMT) for his documents because of their sensitive nature.

Background

The end client is based in the UK and does business in France with a French company. There are regular legal documents binding both entities that have to be translated from French into English and from English into French.

The Challenge

Communication between the 2 parties had to be clear, straight to the point, and void of any ambiguity whatsoever. In other words, HQ-Translators had to deliver legal documents written formally and using the right terminology, so that the message could easily be understood without any confusion. Once the translation was completed, certification had to be performed for the document to be legally complete.

We assessed the client’s project and requirements thoroughly before looking for suitable and available linguists to work on it. The colleagues we ended up shortlisting were not only native speakers in their respective languages but also qualified as translators, editors, and proofreaders with a legal background. In addition to this, we made sure the same linguists worked on the same client’s project in order to maintain consistency.

The Result

To date, the client continues to send us files for translation and happily pays for the service. As a result, communication between his partner and him is more effective and this helps his business grow as both parties are in the same ballpark.

The story behind the working relationship with this client of ours is quite unusual. When they first contacted us for a proofreading task of a translation done by non professional linguists, we politely declined their offer. We advised them to contact the translator again to request an improvement or have the document retranslated to ensure a high quality translation. That, as they later confided in us, was when they decided to hire HQ-Translators.

Background

The client is an embassy agent who regularly assists his customers in obtaining visas. For this to happen, he needed some official documents to be translated and certified before having them approved by embassy authorities.

The Challenge

The challenge here was to translate the documents received as faithfully as possible, in order for them to be later checked by native speakers in the embassy before they are approved.

How HQT Helped

After assessing the client’s requirements, we selected 3 of our best legal translators to work on the project to ensure the documents were translated accurately and as faithfully as possible. As is the case with other subject fields, the selected linguists were subject matter experts with proven experience in the field. In other words, our experts possessed a thorough understanding of the law and a competent knowledge of legal terminology. The translated files were later edited, proofread, and more importantly, certified as per the client’s requirements, scanned and delivered to him via email.

The Result

Our client was able to concentrate more on his business while we handled the translation and certification aspect of it. What is more, the cost was reduced at his end because of the repetitions we would translate free of charge.
